Sourwood Provisions

It has been several months since I last updated our Gofundme page. Thanks to the many generous donations, we 
were able to provide income to our staff during the initial months of the Covid 19 pandemic. Since that time wewere able to provide a take out menu and a meal kit in the form of "Dining with Sourwood" that entailed providing proteins that were cooked at home with the appropriate sauces and sides. Our ability to provide that service was due to our PPP loan which ameliorated the payroll portion of our overhead. Once the PPP loan was exhausted, the decision was made to resume dine in service in the hopes that the Fall months would provide sufficient income to weather the lean months of Winter. We installed Reme Halo air purifiers throughout the building to minimize the possibility of contracting an infection, implemented social distancing and trained our staff in the practice of safe standards.

However, due to the limitations on seating and reduced effective business hours we were unable to fund a war chest that would provide a sufficient buffer to sustain operations during the slow months of winter.

The severe space limitations in Honey Dip Saloon predicated the decision to permanently close that portion of our operation.

During this time of trials and tribulations it is necessary to be nimble and creative. We have made the decision to repurpose the Honey Dip space into Sourwood Provisions. The mission statement is to provide prepared meals to go, artisanal wines & cheeses and gourmet proteins. Included in inventory will be specialty meats from producers such as Linz Heritage Angus Beef, Painted Hills Natural Beef, Beeler Family Pork and American Butcher all Natural Charcuterie and Sausages.

In order to accomplish this transformation funds are required to pay for design and purchase the necessary equipment and inventory.

We were hopeful that our initial solicitation for funds would be our last.  With little hope of any governmental assistance in the near future, our viability rests on the generosity of our friends and patrons. We appreciate all of your support over the preceding months and again ask for your continued participation in these trying times.
