People have always said 'there's something about Mary' but there isn't just anything about my sister Mary. There's something special.
Mary Haddad is 20 and for 20 long years she's suffered from Epidermolysis Bullosa - an extremely rare skin disease that would, for an ordinary person, make life dull and difficult. Mary is anything but ordinary, her smile is infectious and her spirit keeps our family going. Despite countless trips to the hospital, regardless of blistering pain from the marks on her body and a part from the emotional wounds growing up with a disease barely heard of - Mary keeps our family going.
This past June, Mary was diagnosed with Cancer but again, she defied all odds and persevered even though her leg was amputated. Passion, strength, love and hope is what drives Mary. But with strength, comes financial strain and our family is now hoping to raise money for the endless medical bills that have piled up.
From rehabilitation bills, to costs of bandages and an artificial leg to get my sister back on her feet.
