My name is Solomon Messiah. I am a ballet dancer in Harlem, NY. I have trained with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Earl Mosley, Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Kim Elliot, Young Dancemakers Company and now I am with The Preprofessional Ballet Company, Manhattan Youth Ballet in NYC. I am a senior in Beacon High School.
I auditioned and I have been accepted to the college, California Institute of the Arts into the Sharon Lund School of Dance on a partial scholarship. As long as I remain in good standing I will receive their partial scholarship.
I will need to raise $17,000 to start college this September 2017. The funds will go directly toward my partial tuition, my stay on campus and meal plan. I would be so appreciative of any funds donated to my campaign so that I may continue my education.
I am from a single parent home and while my mother has contributed it is not enough to allow me to continue to this great school. I am applying for scholarships in the interim but I am also giving my dreams a chance by asking the those who understand to help me reach my career dance goals.
