has been campaigning for an Isle of Wight ‘road based’ fixed link since December 2014 and started fundraising late 2018.
The Pro-Link team has worked tirelessly unpaid, to achieve an alternative cross Solent option, that will allow 24 hour, 365 day, affordable, immediate access... spanning from Whippingham on the island, to the M27 on the mainland, named the ‘Solent Freedom Tunnel’. Both the IOW Council and the mainland authorities are keen to see the conclusions of this study, but due to the enormous control and influence of both Red Funnel and Wightlink, they are not willing to pay for it.
