My name is Charles Fischer and I am raising money to get my book published. I have been working on this massive project for over 10 years. This 350+ page tome represents my life’s work to date in a specific area of teaching called Socratic Seminar.
This teaching method is specifically designed to help students develop their thinking skills. I entered the book in a publishing contest judged by librarians and won second place. The librarians recognized the need for such a book to add to the professional books in this specific genre. What could be better than helping students think for themselves?
I am raising this money to get the book published and distributed into the world. I have the resources I need to see this through. I am familiar with the self-publishing industry because I published a novel a few years ago. I have a book coach helping with the process, and I belong to AuthorU, an organization in Denver that has professional editors, talented cover designers and amazing artists who are all dedicated to publishing.
I have already purchased ISBNs and several other side expenses. The money raised will pay for editing, designing a cover, interior layout, and printing costs. There are other costs as well, such as shipping, warehousing, and marketing that I will be paying for eventually as well.
This is my flagship book, meaning that it will be the main book of a planned series. I have outlines for two other books that go into more detail, another book specifically on listening skills and several other ideas that may manifest. With any stretch goals, I would also begin the publishing process with the others in the series.
This book is my legacy to teaching and learning. Please help make it happen!
