Send Sockeye to the Velocity National Championships!

What happens when an inspired choreographer teams up with 22 equally inspired teenagers? Magic, that's what.

Help us send Miss Sam Crossley, of Reflections Dance Studio, and her hip-hop crew, "Sockeye", to the Velocity Dance Convention Grand Finale, so they can compete against the best-of-the-best from across the United States.

They earned their spot at the Grand Finale with a blow-the-roof-off performance of "007" during Regionals at Velocity Los Angeles, where they scored an incredible 297.7 points out of 300 and had the crowd - and the adjudicators - on their feet.

"This is one of my favourite hip hops I've seen all season," said one judge. Another one just said this.

"I'm so incredibly proud of my dancers and all the hard work and time they've put into this year. It means a lot to me to be able to bring them new opportunities when it comes to exposure to different teachers/choreographers and performances," says Sam.

"Being able to not only compete at Velocity Nationals in Las Vegas but also be able to train with the best of the best would be a one of a kind experience that we would be very grateful to be a part of."

Make a donation to our Sockeye fund and help these amazing kids showcase their talent at one of the biggest dance conventions in North America. This trip ain't cheap, but these guys are worth it!

About the dancers:
These 22 dancers, aged 14-18, earned their spot on the Sockeye dance team last summer and have worked their fins off ever since. In addition to their regular weekly classes, these guys have trained Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and even invented some days to work on their routine.

About the choreographer:
Sam is a well-rounded and versatile dancer and choreographer who began her training right here in Kelowna. In 2010 Sam moved to Los Angeles and pursued her dream of dancing with the world renowned hip hop team "GRV" placing 2nd at World Hip Hop Championships in 2012. Taking 1st place at World of Dance LA two years in a row, the international exposure became greater and they eventually travelled as a team to Sweden to perform at the Hip Drop in summer of 2013.
