Dear World,

My name is Anton and I am aiming and hoping to raise money for a local school SMK Nusa Dua in the poorest part of North West of Bali in Gerokgak area.


I work in hospitaly industry over here and we are very lucky to have some young students to join us on a internship every year from the local hospitality school for kids from 16-19 years of age.


We invest our time and our knowledge to help better the aspiring youngsters and motivate through learning.

Unfortunately, the local school has pretty poor learning conditions - resulting in students losing their passion and interest, long before they graduate.

I need your help to turn this around.


There is no air-conditioning or ventilation. Some classrooms without windows, staircases with metal spikes hanging out, leaking roof are some of the dangers and aspects that need urgent attention. No dining facilities, poor sanitation units and no recreation area. It is basically a concrete box at this moment in time with very dangerous and exposed elements.


Besides the enormous structural damages and issues - there is not enough textbooks for all the children (1 for every 3 or 4), no multimedia facilities, no internet access, no presentation facilities (only projector screen and a broken projector) - making the life of the teachers pretty difficult also. The students rely heavily on theoretical learning - which proves to be very challanging for some as there is no real way to engage them through presentation, videos and interactive materials. There is also a big lack of facilities to do practical training (cooking, service and housekeeping techniques).

My best hope for this campaign is to help renovate the essential damages within the building and make it safe for the children to attend. Second step would be to purchase all the neccessary missing textbooks, materials, create a library, computer room and have projector in at least 5 classrooms (total 13). The provision of an adequate amount of cooking equipment and utensils will allow for more practical lessons to take place for a more engaging learning experience.


We can then help with teaching and guiding the lecturers also to further improve the education standards and consequently the future opportunities of the graduates.
