Hi Friends,
Just weeks after birth, little Skylah had a well-baby check up on 10-3. Upon exam she was found with a larger than normal head circumference . Tawnni was directed to bring Skylah to Sunrise ER.
At the ER the baby had a CT which revealed Hydrocephalus . She was admitted to the pediatric ICU with altered mental status and seizure activity. She had emergency neurosurgery on 10-4 where external ventricular drains were placed.
She has since been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis . She suffered cardiac arrest on 10-6 due to respiratory distress. She had a Ventricular shunt placement on 10-16 .
She needs to have physical and speech therapy follow ups to monitor developmental skills, as well as follow up appointments with neurology and ophthalmology .
She is currently home and healing well, yet more procedures are needed in the future.
We appreciate any help you can give towards the medical expenses her family is going to encounter this year.
