#SingASong4Corah Wet-room Appeal

Corah-Beth Slaney, or Corah as she is known to her friends and family, is a 16 year old, music loving teenager, who has the life-limiting Mitochondrial disease.
The two photos of Corah, on this page, were taken six months apart, the first in July 2014 and the second in January 2015. Her deterioration, as you can see, has been catastrophic.
Corah is a patient at Kings Mill Hospital, Notts, however she much prefers to be at home. Sadly, she is no longer able to do anything for herself, and without a wet-room her parents have to take Corah to the hospital, to use their facilities. The local authorities have assessed Corah’s home and deemed that she is eligible for a ground-floor bedroom and wet-room, but because of the waiting list it will be two years before the work can commence. Corah needs these facilities now, so we have decided to launch an appeal to raise the £40k which is needed to make this happen.
In January we launched an appeal to bring lovely surprises for Corah under the #AChorus4Corah hashtag. You may have seen our tweets? We created the Facebook page AChorus4Corah and set up a JG page to raise funds for The Lily Foundation , which raises awareness of this terrible disease and supports families affected by it. However, whilst we will still continue to fundraise for the charity, Corah’s own needs have become more urgent…. hence this GoFundMe appeal, for her wet-room.
Despite all of this, Corah is still singing and smiling. She has amazing determination and a fantastic sense of humour, which can be seen in the video uploads on the Facebook page .
Please make a donation to our appeal. A downstairs bedroom and a wet-room will make a world of difference to Corah and her family and allow her to spend much more of the limited time she has left, in the comfort of her own home. Thank you.
