God has blessed my incredible family with an amazing year in Austin, TX at the Heart of David School!
For the past four or five months, I have been stirred to enter into the coffee and bar scene where live music is on nearly every street corner, and present the gospel in an unvconventional way.
My goal with this project is to produce a professional 6 song EP to take with me into these places. I believe there is a sound that will awaken the hearts and lives of the people who frequent these places, a sound that I believe I'm carrying.
About 4 months ago, a Hindu girl walked into a bar I was playing at and told my friend that she never felt what she was feeling before. That is what I want my story to be. I will always play at church and have a passion to lead people into God's Presence but I know that I'm called to reach people in the darkest of places with this type of music.
My goal is not to write the next hit worship album, but rather to authentically create the Revelation of Jesus and sing it as it sounds to me. Then, present that in the coffee/bars here in Austin, then beyond.
I'm working full time with teaching and ministry right now and will be taking 4 days off in May to rehearse and record the album at 12th street studio sound. The cost is 650.00 a day for two 10 hour studio days, 400.00 each song to mix, and ordering 1000.00 Cds with a sleeve will total around 5,000.00.
