WHAT WE DOThis GoFundMe project aims at restoring an extremely rare Sherman, produced by Chrysler in October 1943.Its distinctive trait relies on its hybrid shell: it is a combination of a M4 (Sherman1) shell together with a welded front of a M4A1 (Sherman2). Moreover, it has the famous M4 Firefly Sherman modification, fitted with the powerful 3-inch (76.2 mm) caliber British 17pdr as its main weapon.By reviving this tank, we want to honor our Italian history and those people who fought and died for our freedom. It is our duty to show how terrifying being inside these tanks could have been, we want to show off vehicles’ history and engineering as well as the crew’s lives. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Cosa facciamo:Desideriamo dare il via a questa raccolta fondi per poter provvedere al restauro di un rarissimo Sherman, uscito dalle fabbriche Chrysler nell’ottobre del 1943.Le particolaritá assoluta del mezzo consistono nel suo scafo "ibrido", ovvero realizzato dall'unione di uno scafo M4 (sherman 1) con il frontale da fusione di uno sherman M4A1 (sherman 2), e dalla sua versione "FIREFLY", modifica britannica per alloggiare il famoso 17pdr.Restaurando questo mezzo vogliamo onorare la storia d’Italia e le persone che si sono sacrificate in nome della Libertà. Crediamo che sia giusto mostrare quanto spaventosa potesse essere la vita all’interno di un carro armato, la storia di questi mezzi, le vite di chi li guidava e il loro funzionamento meccanico.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
