Darling Daughter, Lorian, is 25 years on the planet today!! (Feb 8)
Here's the scoop: Lorian is a full-time student at a kick-butt cosmetology school (Avenue 5 Institute) and graduating this May. She loves this program and is totally excited about her new career path. She has been working as much as she can, given her time and transportation constraints. She has gotten by on her own resilience, cheerful resolve, the help of her generous brother, Peter, friends and family.
However, her beloved '96 Toyota Camry has finally died. Expensive attempts to resuscitate "Tina Toyota" have failed: from the fuel pump to the timing belt, and on and on. She has gone as far as she can by her independent effort and she needs a little help.
This girl needs a car so she can get to school and work and kick this Life Journey into high gear! I have some wonderful contacts at reliable dealers, so we can get her a sound vehicle for $6,000 or less. If we find a car that costs less than the money raised, it will be used to pay off her school debts.
If we all pitch in a little (or a lot!) we can make this happen!
People have told me that they would be delighted to support Lorian in this FUNdraiser for two reasons: Lorian's responsibility for herself as been impressive and she's just plain awesome. And it is a way to "repay" those who supported them when they most needed it along their own path.
She is not asking for this. I am. If I had all the money I would certainly take care of this without coming to you.
