In Memoriam: Sharon Honey Giammatteo
We are forever grateful for the contributions of a very special woman and remarkable teacher,
Sharon Honey Giammatteo.

On Thursday, February 12, 2015, at home with her husband, Tom, by her side, 

Sharon Honey (Babad, Weiselfish) Giammatteo released her spirit from her physical body.

Sharon was born on May 10, 1948 in Toronto, Canada. She was a citizen of the world. Sharon’s impact on so many people will be cherished forever. She was a world healer, pioneer and innovator in the field of holistic medicine. Her contributions were profound. Sharon developed Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) over the last forty years which has helped so many people find their way to better health.

Sharon made Aliyah to Israel at the age of 18 and lived and studied in Israel until moving to the United States. Sharon earned her Physical Therapy degree in Israel. She continued in her studies and earned a Bachelors in Advanced Health Sciences and Medicine, a Masters in Clinical Neuroscience, and a Doctorate focusing in traumatic brain injury and coma. After leaving Israel and moving to Connecticut, Sharon returned to Israel many times over her lifetime. With her husband, Tom, Sharon founded the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy, headquartered in West Hartford, Connecticut, and the IMT Association, a non-profit professional organization for the IMT community. During her career, Sharon has taught and trained practitioners all over the world. Sharon published many books and course manuals over the years. Sharon devoted her life to health and healing.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas, and her three children, Nim, Amir, and Ayelet, and her daughters-in-law and son-in-law, Jennifer, Andrea, and Matthew, and her grandchildren, Phineas, Mateo, Jordana, Indra, and Mila, and her sister and brother and their spouses, Arlene, Michael, Cathy, and Archie, and her niece and nephew, Beth and Sidney, and her mother-in-law, Teresa, and her dogs, Dylan and Abbey. Sharon was predeceased by her sister, Tamara.
