I began my medical journey in 2015 when I was the recipient of brain trama. As a result I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. This condition makes it extremely hard to walk. Its to the point that I cant walk through the grocery store without passing falling over. This is because the blood pools in my legs and cant get to my brain. I also suffer from an extremely elevated heart rate, shaking hands, mental fog and constant exhaustion. Including P.O.T.S., I suffer from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Disorder and brain trama. Since I have a numerous amount of chronic illnesses my doctors have decided that a medical alert dog would improve my quality of life. Some things Talia will do is... • pick things up off the floor for me • alert me when my heart rate is too high and I need to sit down • deep tissue therapy • sniff for nuts (i have a severe nut allergy) • break the habit of chronic skin picking And more Unfortunately training a service dog is expensive and my family simply cant afford it on our own.
