Help Me Bring Home My Service Dog!

Dear Family & Friends,
As most of you know, I have a severe terminal illness called Mitochondrial disease and complications including heart, epilepsy, muscle weakness, intestinal failure, stomach failure, eye problems, epilepsy, lung problems, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, high thyroid levels, issues with anesthesia, 2 feeding tubes and more. I also have a double lumen Hickman line and port. Mitochondrial Disease "aka- Mito" shuts down the powerhouse of almost every cell in your body. It's like functioning on 10% of a battery. Mito slowly shuts down each and every body system until your body goes into complete failure. Please pray/think/hope for a cure!
I have spent several holidays in the hospital. I have been on life support several times, had 3 treatments of IVIG, hundreds of IV's, 6 PICC lines, a line in my groin, a line in my neck, "chemo" ports etc.
I have been approved to get a service dog (lab) to help with several of my medical issues. Not only physically but emotionally. :) "Somebody" who will always be there to cry on, listen and just have love no matter what. The dog cost $10,000 to train, which is the amount that I have to pay to bring him/her home. I also need money for vet care, food, toys, bed and other needed dog items. His vest alone is nearly $200. I am asking for help raising money for my dog. ANY amount is not too little! I appreciate everything! Even if you can't donate money..... I will be feeding him/her science diet large breed, greenies and Milk-Bones. As well as medications to help his/her hips. Again, nothing is too small! I appreciate each and every one of you.
I am also selling Sarris Candy. I have chocolate covered pretzel rods and candy bars. If you are interested in helping me sell them or buying some, please email me at [email redacted]. They are $2 each. The pretzels come in a 2-pack of rods. I have various flavors of candy bars (I.E. peanut butter, caramel, dark chocolate, light chocolate, almond etc.). I am able to have boxes brought to your house if you are interested in selling them for me. They make great stocking stuffers!!!!!
I will be having surgery Tuesday 12.17.13 to get my port replaced (again- this is the 4th time) to a double power port, new Hickman line (my 2nd) and both my surgical J-tube and G-tube replaced. I will be put under general anesthesia w/ a breathing tube and because of all of the surgery at once, I may stay overnight in the ICU.
I see my Neurologist next month. We will be talking about brain surgery to try to help stop some of my severe seizures. I just had one last week on 12.5.13 that lasted 1 hour and ended with a cardiac arrest. I am so thankful to be alive. My service dog will be able to alert me earlier than my body "alerts" me.... so this will help me get meds, oxygen on etc. to hopefully avoid cardiac arrest and the really bad seizures.
I am currently fed into my veins (TPN) because I have NO function in my intestines or stomach. I have been on TPN since last February. There is a HUGE concern w/ the length that I have been on TPN..... liver failure is a huge issue, because TPN does not get processed in the GI tract it goes into the liver. TPN is full of fats, sugars, vitamins, minerals, amino acids etc. which are VERY hard for the liver to process.
Along with my muscle weakness, I currently have extremely painful intestines (due to the failure), bone pain and sharp pains in my muscles. I am on morphine and fentanyl to try to stop these but it's not always effective.
So, I am asking for any help possible. Any amount helps including sharing my page, needed items, gift cards etc. I truly believe this dog will help change my life. He/she will be like my cheerleader. :)
