Serena's Fund

Serena is a courageous fourteen year old girl from Wenatchee, Washington. Just two days before Thanksgiving of 2013, Serena was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. An emergency surgery was done and a seven inch tumor was removed. She recently finished her first round of chemotherapy, and at this time the amount of rounds she will need is unknown.


Serena's parents, Doug and Nikki Prunty, both work full time, and have another nine year old son at home. They are unable to take extended time off work to be with Serena. During this process, friends and family are rotating so that Serena has someone with her while she is in Seattle at all times.

This battle has just begun and the medical bills are already coming in. Aside from these bills, the added costs of traveling back and forth to Seattle so frequently is creating a financial struggle for this family. In between each round of chemotherapy, Serena will get to come home, but she will have to return to make sure the treatments are working successfully.

This fundraiser has been set up to help the Prunty family with medical and travel expenses during this difficult time. Serena has maintained a positive attitude and kept a smile on her face as she goes through something that no child should ever have to face.
