Send Sarah to School!

As many of you may know, I met a beautiful little girl in Zambia a few months ago at an orphanage, along with many other children. Although these children are living in a clean and nurturing environment, they don’t have a lot of clothing or shoes, and they have no books, toys or school supplies. Sarah is 11, and completely deaf, mute and illiterate. I started teaching her sign language by pointing to a picture book and signing the word. She picked up the language very quickly, and we’re currently in the process of getting her enrolled in a deaf school in Lusaka. One big problem however is the school tuition and other fees. Sarah needs to continue to learn how to communicate if she will ever have a chance in living a free and independent life. As a result of meeting her, I opened an account with Chase Bank and a GoFundMe page for friends and family to donate money to support her in getting the help she really needs. After we raise the amount needed to send her to school, the account will stay open to allow people to continue donating money for the other children who are in desperate need for cloths, food, shoes, books and school supplies.
By donating, you are giving her the chance to live a happy, independent life while changing the lives of others around her. Sarah is a special girl with many special qualities, qualities that I rarely find in someone her age. After losing her father to illnesses, and being abandoned by her mother, Sarah was taken in by a nearby shelter. Although she’s still unable to communicate, she has the biggest heart and most beautiful spirit of anyone I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life. Aside from her struggles, she finds no reason to be unhappy. She chooses to love those around her tenderly, without any judgment or preconceived ideas. She is just purely made of joy. This is a wonderful reminder that we must be thankful to the beauty that surrounds our lives, just as Sarah does. Helping her get an education will allow her to spread those beautiful qualities to so many others in her life, and that is a beautiful beautiful thing that we have had the opportunity to partake in.

Know that 1 American Dollar is equal to about 7 kwacha. Our money goes a long way, and every penny counts. One Starbucks coffee could buy three of those orphans a good pair of shoes. Three Starbucks coffees could buy Sarah a book. We have an obligation as human beings to help one another, and we have so much to give here. Please help these children to live a healthy and successful life.
