Hello. As I type, It\'s my birthday today. And I need your help.
I\'ve been offered places at the three best film schools in the world - AFI, Columbia & NYU - but I can\'t afford to go.
I got a Fulbright Scholarship that was supposed to cover it, but their budgets have been slashed and it\'s not enough.
Now I have TWO WEEKS to try to raise the rest.
I\'ve tried everything and I\'m desperate. I HATE putting my hand out I\'m out of options.
So I\'m turning to you for help, for ANY donation that might help me reach my target, or to send my plea to anyone you think might chip in.
These schools are very, very expensive. Often only the rich go. My shortfall is £21k.
So far some generous, wonderful friends have pledged £6000.
So there\'s £15k to go. That\'s $24k. In two weeks.
If you\'ve ever enjoyed one of my films, you\'d like to put some wind in my sails, or even if you just like my hair, please PLEASE put your digital hand in your pocket and give me a donation.
Or if you know someone who likes to support artists, please let them know.
If you guys can help me do this, I promise I will work harder than I ever have to hone the craft I\'ve been muddling along with for a decade or so and make the the best films I possibly can for you all. And you\'ll all go in the credits of every film I make at film school.
Three ways to help:
1) Donate here (although they take 5%)
2) If you\'d like bank details, of have any questions, email MrO[email redacted]
3) Forward this to someone rich and generous, or PUT IT ON YOUR FACEBOOK.
Thankyou. Really, thankyou.
Love Oscar (33 today!)
Since putting this up I\'ve realised two things - that this site takes 5% and that donations are sent to paypal instantly rather than waiting for the full amount first.
SO: If you\'d like to donate directly, get in touch for my bank details and I can edit this page accordingly. Also, I should make clear that if I don\'t manage to go, naturally I\'ll get in touch with everyone to offer refunds, but minus any gofundme or paypal charges :(. Man that will be a depressing operation all round.
