Hello Family & Friends,
As you know I am now home healing from surgery on April 14th. During the 8-hour surgery they found 2 sites that contained cancer, the base of tongue and the right tonsil. They used the da Vinci robot on the base of tongue; they took more than expected. In addition, I had multiple biopsies, tonsillectomy, and a complete neck dissection on the right side. Finding 2 sites of cancer is bittersweet; we can now target the radiation site, yet there may be more cancer lurking in the base of my mouth and neck. During the surgery they were able to stage the cancer; it's squamous cell carcinoma stage 3.
My journey continues, in about 4-5 weeks I will begin radiation. I have been told we will do 6-7 weeks of daily treatment. Two days before surgery I watched a DVD called 'Crazy Sexy Cancer' (http://youtu.be/ZwR_7M6U_HA) as I was looking for inspiration. In the film, she goes to an amazing place called Hippocrates Health Institute (http://hippocratesinst.org) where she attends daily health lectures, eats raw and vegan foods only, and heals her body from the inside out. Ever since I saw the film I cannot stop thinking about Hippocrates and how I want to take this next step to empower myself and spend the following weeks getting in the best health of my life. I need to be ready to stand up to radiation and the adverse effects it will have on my body, and kick cancer in the ASS!
At this time, I turn to you in asking for assistance in funding my trip to Hippocrates for the 3-week Life Transformation Program, so that I can heal myself and be fully ready for radiation. Please consider donating any amount that you are able, all fund will go towards this healing journey.
