Voluenteer Trip to Africa

In the back of all our minds, we are aware of poverty. From time to time we see it in the news papers and on the tv. But how much do we really know about it…?

I used to think I knew all I needed to about poverty around the word. I considered myself a compassionate and empathetic person, who was always saddened to read about another malnourished child that had died in a foreign and barren land.

But the truth is, back then, after reading this chilling tale, I’d just turn the page and read about the latest tantrum in the tennis and completely forget about the devastation...

I had become desensitised to the pain within the world because I thought, "Well, what can I really do about it?"

- This all changed when I began working for an NGO.

My job is not fancy (far from it) But my day to day has become about understanding the horror for children living in countries like Uganda and Kenya. But most importantly, that I CAN do something about it..!

But I can't do it alone. I need your help…

On this trip I will be assisting some wonderful Nursing staff and a couple of Doctors of whom attend my church in setting up 3 temporary medical clinics.

This Medical trip is ran every year by these generous people and all the medical equipment and travel is completely funded by ourselves.

We are expecting to see more than 1000 children each day we are running the clinics. It’s going to be amazing!!!

These communities are some of the most desolate places where child marriage and child slavery are a reality and malnutrition and poor hygiene are common death sentences for the children living there.

I am called to see this, to understand it, and to help out, then to return home with a profound passion for my work, where I CAN help to change the world.

But first, I have to see the work we are doing to fix it for myself. I want to look into the eyes of the children I work so hard to save. I need to do this, child marriage, slavery and mortality are serious problems.

I know not all people have the flexibility to just jump on a plane and head to these places... But I can, use me to do what you may not be released to do yourself...

The funds you donate will be going towards my flights and medical equipment for use in the field (Gauze, tape, BALLOONS).

Obviously, as I will be traveling alone for quite some time. So securing safe, reliable transportation early on is important and costly.

I’m not afraid to go, I know God wants me to do this, and I need your help...

If you do donate, I hope you know just how incredible you are. You are part of a solution to end the painful reality for these children.

Bless you!!

Thank you!
