Hello everyone! I am so excited! I have been recommended by my teachers to become a part of the People to People Leadership In Action Program. I have chosen this program instead of the European Tour at this time, because I feel it will help me to prepare to pursue my aspirations of becoming a lawyer.
I will be traveling as a Leadership Ambassador to the Leadership Summit, with kids from around the world to participate in the People to People Leadership in Action program on the campus of the prestigious Harvard University! My trip will take place for 7 days. It is going to be a great opportunity to further develop my leadership qualities, prepare me for college admissions, and help me to become an effective communicator. I am looking forward to this tremendous, chance of a lifetime, experience as I learn what it takes to be a successful young leader in order to make a difference in the world.
The benefits of this trip are absolutely amazing! 80% of the students that go on this adventure are accepted to their first college of choice! I will also earn 55 High School credit hours and 20 service-learning hours, and 3 optional college credits!
Additionally, while on this journey I will: Be inspired by leaders, experts, and guest speakers. Past speakers have included: General Colin Powell, U.S. secretary of state (2001-2005); Condoleezza Rice, U.S. secretary of state (2005-2009); Laura W. Bush, former first lady of the United States; and Sean Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.
Prepare to make a difference in my community by developing my own personal community-service action plan.
Make friends and create a network of young leaders from all over the world"”students from 140 countries have participated in People to People Leadership Summits since 2001.
Learn what it takes to be a leader"”and experience college life"”at Harvard University, the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States and a top ranked Ivy League university.
Discover my personal leadership style and use this knowledge to map my path to college and career.
Gain an edge in the college admissions process and learn proven college application strategies from a college admissions Advisor at Harvard University.
This trip will cost approximately $3500. I've raised a little over $1400 and have approximately $1400 left. I need the help of friends, family and associates, to help me reach my goal. Choosing a donation amount below, will help me reach my goal faster. Of course, a donation of any amount would be appreciated.
