Thank you for visiting, below you will find uncover exactly what I am raising money and donations for!

 Your help in sponsoring me to travel to Sub-Saharan Africa will be immensely felt, through the lives I hope to positively impact and through my own and the volunteers. While we are there we will be filming a documentary where you will be able to see first-hand your efforts and the efforts of all the volunteers as well as the orphans themselves and the lives they lead! The film will be called "At the Heart of it." Directed by DePaul Alum Veronica Pettini

I am raising money for:

A summer 2012 service trip for 8 weeks with Worldwide Orphanage Relief Coalition (W.O.R.C.) to aid orphanages and orphans in:

Ghana, West Africa

Specifically, the following orphanages through our partnership with Volunteer Corps:

Good Shepherd Orphanage
Women's Refuge and Child Survival - Africa (WORSCA)
One Wish
God's Eye Orphanage

We will be specifically aiding the children in teaching and reinforcing basic elementary skills such as reading, writing and math. We will also teach them hygiene practices such as how to brush your teeth properly, playing games with them, providing nutrition and medical based assistance, helping around the facilities with daily cleaning regimens as well as needed building projects. Some of these orphanages are in worse condition that others and we will be taking care of and establishing relationships with some very sick children. The goal is to empower these children to succeed in the world.

I am also striving to go to Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Rawanda to conduct further research with a smaller team, including the President and Founder of W.O.R.C. Matthew Manning.

W.O.R.C. Mission:

Worldwide Orphanage Relief Coalition (W.O.R.C.) is dedicated to the betterment of the international impoverished youth. W.O.R.C.'s mission is to establish lifelong bonds among international orphanages and provide them with the supplies they need to enhance the lives of their children and overall community. W.O.R.C. strongly values the health and wellness of children globally and works hard to ensure their humanitarian rights needs are met.

More specifically, the DePaul chapter will be actively engaged in accomplishing three major goals: Raising awareness among DePaul students and local community members surrounding issues of child impoverishment, empowering students to act and to serve, as well as bettering the lives of our global youth through outreach and programming (including public events, fundraising, benefits, etc.)
