Or I go full out and make dresses and really awesome props. In short- I make things.
I am a junior in high school and I have a huge passion for sewing, cosplaying, art and helping out my community in geeky ways. I have founded and am currently president of two anime clubs, directed a community anime convention and I'm rebooting my high school muggle Quidditch team. Past my extracurricular activities, I am also extremely invested in my education, which brings me to why I have started this campaign.
I really want to attend Moore College of Art & Design's summer program in Philadelphia, PA called the Summer Art and Design Institute, or SADI for short. This is an all-girls program that offers 4 weeks of workshops, classes and college credit. They have four concentrations, and of them, I intend to enroll in the Fashion Design track. The program in total costs about $4,700, not including the cost of the flight to Philadelphia from Houston.
This program is important to me because it is completely immersive. Not only do I get to go to workshops and classes, but it also safely simulates what a college experience away from home feels like while receiving college credit. To me, this summer program isn't just fun and games, but a serious opportunity to develop skills I will need as an artist, like portfolio building, networking, and so much more.
For anyone who donates $15 or more, there are all sorts of awesome little goodies you can get! Here are more descriptions as to what each item is:
Full Commission: Full color and detailed commission of any character or person of your choice. It will be in water color and the physical copy may be mailed to the donator.
