Dream for Semester at Sea 2013

Hello everyone! :)

First off, thank you for visiting my page. Secondly, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.

Currently, I am going to be an Adrian College sophomore in the fall. I am majoring in English with an emphasis in Writing. I am minoring in Theatre. I plan on attending grad school in Chicago after I graduate from Adrian to get my masters in Magazine Journalism. I am involved in a lot of things on campus such as Chi Omega, Cheerleading, Pen and Ink Society, Society of the Red Sun, Work-Study program, and I currently work at two jobs.

Now, the main reason for this site is to raise money for my study abroad trip.

My school offers all students a chance to study abroad. I have chosen to take a journey with Semester at Sea. In the summer of 2013, I am planning on going on the voyage with Semester at Sea where we will traveling to 11 different ports in 10 different countries. Currently, the total cost for my voyage is approximately 15,000. Room and Board itself will be 14,000. This will cover the cost for my room and board, ship-life, and up to 12 transferable credits from the University of Virginia. I am trying to raise money to help pay for my voyage. Since it is a summer voyage, financial aid will not cover anything. I am in the process of applying for grants and scholarships from Semester at Sea and outside sources.

I would appreciate any donation you are willing to make so that my dream for semester at sea can come true. All my life, I have wanted to travel and be among different cultures. This experience will help me learn more about literature among the world and will expand my talents with writing.
