Det. Sean Franklin Memorial Fund

Sean Patrick Franklin passed away suddenly on May 22, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, son, and friend to all.

Sean was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a retired New York City Detective with the NYPD. He had been battling several illnesses directly related to his work as a First Responder during the September 11 Attacks, and the rigorous recovery efforts that followed. Without warning or hesitation, he worked tirelessly to aid in any way he could. Sean has now joined the growing list of people who have succumbed to their illnesses related to their efforts on that day: a number that has now surpassed the amount of people we tragically lost from the initial attacks.

Even through all of these struggles and ailments, Sean never wavered from his positive attitude and dedication to his family. He leaves behind his wife, Tanya, his four sons, and several other family members that cared about him so much. His wife will now be faced with several financial burdens, while still trying to finalize memorial services. The following months will take their toll as she will have to deal with mountains of paperwork and follow ups on Sean's behalf.

Tanya and her family would not want to ask for help, but with such a tragic loss, I know Sean would want to make sure they were not struggling with anything. After discussion with family and friends, and on their behalf, this has been set up to help them in anyway possible.

Any donations are appreciated for a hero taken so soon.
