As many of you know, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa continues to spread and has taken countless lives, and is getting out of control. It has been deemed an INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY. Because the initial international response to the outbreak was too little and too slow, the Ebola virus has now spread to twelve of Sierra Leone’s thirteen districts, and to other neighboring countries.
We need your help and support!! We are asking for donations for the Kenema Government Hospital in Sierra Leone. Your donation will provide funds for lifesaving personal protective equipment, intravenous fluids, antibiotics for preventing secondary infections, and support for contact tracing– the best hope for shutting down the outbreak.
The event hits very close to home to the Tulane community. Our faculty and staff are bracing the frontline and actually traveling to West Africa to work in the Kenema Government Hospital.
As students of Tulane School of Medicine, Tulane School of Public Health, and Tulane School of Biomedical Sciences, we wanted to combine efforts in a way to show support to our professors for their courageous efforts and help spread awareness to the rest of the Tulane faculty, staff, and students, and the surrounding New Orleans community.

Finally please join us on October 24th at the House of Blues from 7-10pm for food, music, open bar, African drumming and dancers, silent auction, and much much more!
