New Children's Playground

Scriven Christian Academy needs some new playground equipment! And we want to have it for them by winter!

Scriven Academy is a small, Christian school located in lovely Port Hope, Ontario. Their dedicated teachers have lovingly cared for and educated their small student population for 39 years.

The school is small, but their hearts are big. One thing missing though is adequate playground equipment.

The kids keep busy at their recesses playing tag, playing catch, armwrestling, climbing trees, and using the small swingset and tires that are on the grounds, but we want to give them the gift of a new piece of playground equipment! This still won't compare to many playgrounds, but it is sure to keep them active and having fun year round.

The playground illustration is shown in the picture. It is designed to be multifunctional while providing challenging and fun exercise all while improving their physical skills. The playground will include an 8-foot rock-climbing wall, 3 sets of monkey bars, two 12-foot climbing ropes, an 8-foot climbing net and other multifunction activities. It is designed for future attachments including one or more ziplines.

Of course, kids can survive without playtime, but we want to provide this small school, their teachers, and their kids with something a bit more. If we all pitch in a little, we can make life a bit more fun for these kids at the same time as providing a healthier and stronger lifestyle.

We appreciate your love and care for these kids and their hardworking teachers. So when you give, know that you're giving for them and you're giving to grow God's kingdom in their hearts.

All funds raised will go toward the playground equipment with no monies going toward those involved in it's planning or construction. Of course, as things progress, if it looks as if we won't need as many funds, I will lower the goal accordingly. However, should there be monies left over, these funds will go either toward to school itself or be divided as a gift to the teachers who (though certified) each draw only a small salary and teach out of their heart's desire to educate these kids.
