Many of us find it difficult to ask for money even if it is for a great cause. We are hoping that it we tell you what we do, that maybe somewhere in your heart you can help us.
Sawyers Gully Animal Rescue is a non profit organisation who cares for the sick, injured, abandoned and animals on death row.
Since we started in January 13 we have been instrumental in rescuing unwanted and abused animals from being PTS (Put to Sleep). The animals are shown love and respect, often nursed back to health, desexed, vaccinated and then adopted out to their forever homes. This is in itself not cheap and we are always putting our hands in our pockets to help pay for their care.
We run 7 days per week, to date we have rehomed over 500 animals since January last year.
Not only do we do cats, we now have expanded our operation to include Cats, Dogs, Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.
Our facility can hold up to 160 animals quite comfortably but our biggest expense is our veterinary bills alongside food.
At present our vet bill is at a whopping $5000.00 and we need help to reduce it so that we can help more animals.
More times than not, the animals rescued from the high kill pounds are sick and need urgent attention when they arrive. As you can see from the above picture, this is how sick some of them come in.
We also fund programs like our Community Support Program where we rescue an adult cat, do all their vet work ie desexing, microchipping, worming and vaccinations and then we adopt that animal out to a pensioner for free as a companion animal.
Please can you help us to continue our valuable work, even $20.00 helps. All of our money goes on valuable necessities like food, medicines and vet bills.
