Radiation Treatment for Nabisco

Donation protected
Nabisco, our darling cookie amstaff, you are the true definition of a 'gentle giant'. There isn't one soul nor heart you haven't touched. No frown you haven't turned into a smile. You are a vessel for love.. and it radiates every time you walk into a room.A few weeks ago: We noticed Bisco shivering and trembling. We didn't think anything of it. We thought it was something that would fix itself, but it ended up getting worse. We took him to our family vet. All vitals and blood tests were normal except the X-Ray showed something in his stomach. We thought he had eaten athletic tape on accident. We took him to the specialty vet to see if surgery was needed. They did more x-rays and an ultrasound only to tell us the things they saw were just the turkey bones he ate (raw diet) and that there weren't any ruptures, no pancreatitis, etc. I thought it was great news...but a new problem surfaced: partial facial paralysis. We kept a good eye on him and monitored his behavior and saw his conditions worsen. His breathing at night was labored and got so bad it sounded like he was breathing through a straw. Another emergency vet visit later, he's back to 'normal' and his vitals are fine. We head home. The following morning I go about my normal morning routine and called him to go outside before I left for work. He wouldn't get up. I thought he was just lazy or tired so I helped him off the bed only to see he was unable to stay standing or walk. He collapsed right in front of me. That is a feeling I never want to experience again. I was incredibly heart broken and confused. I just wanted to help him, to take the pain away, but I didn't even know what was wrong. I felt hopeless. Another emergency visit later, we get a deeper understanding of what the problem could be... Nabisco will be going in for a CT scan tomorrow morning and we are hoping it will confirm ours and the vet's suspicion that it isvestibular disease. If it is, we're hoping it's peripheral and not central (tumor) so that it can still be removed via surgery. Unfortunately, these procedures are a pretty hefty amount. On top of what we had already spent for all of his visits, medications, xrays, overnight boarding and more we were given an estimate of $4,500. I don't usually like asking for help but his conditions have gotten progressively worse over the weeks and he has needed much more than we had anticipated and waiting is just not an option. With all of Bisco's recent vet visits, exams, re-exams, radiographs, ultrasounds, overnight stays, and emergency visits, we are up to our necks in vet bills. We are asking friends, family, Bisco admirers from afar to help this darling boy get back to his playful, jolly self. If he's ever made you laugh, smile... if you've ever had the opportunity to hug, snuggle, or kiss him and felt a sort of warmth in your heart, please... help him. Any dollar amount is a dollar closer to getting him better. Thank you to everyone who have kept him in your thoughts and prayers these past few days and to those who have gotten to know him and have fallen in love with him. Your love keeps him strong
