Kelsey Ann Shaheen:
Our beautiful daughter Kelsey, is 16 years old and will be a sophomore this fall at Lakeshore High School in Mandeville, LA.
In April of this year she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Papillary Thyroid Cancer.
She has handled this diagnosis with such courage. The same courage we have seen her display since being diagnosis and living with Epilepsy since the age of 5 years old.
On May 7th she had surgery to remove her thyroid and surrounding lymph nodes where the cancer has metastasized. She will continue with radiation treatment at Children's Hospital until we can with the grace of God and the care of her doctors declare her cancer free.
Kelsey has had a great attitude during this whole ordeal. She remains upbeat and keeps her beautiful smile going for us all, even though it has been a hard and challenging journey for her.
Kelsey's twin brother, Brandon, and her 5 year old little sister, Evie, are also doing their part in helping to keep their sister's spirit up through all of this.
As her mother & father we are amazed by her everyday. Our whole focus along with her entire family, friends, our WOW/PJ's family & the staff at Lakeshore have been making sure Kelsey is receiving everything she needs at this time.
We are so blessed and thankful to have so many people that care about us and about our Kelsey.
