Save Bleu

This is Bleu, our "first born" furry son.  He is 4 years old and has been the warmest, most loving best friend we have ever had.  He has granted himself the titles of Protector, Master Cuddler, Lover of all, and the Best Hugger.  To know Bleu, is to know that you're always loved and always protected by this special soul.  I have had pets throughout my life, but I have never had a companion like Bleu, that looks deeply into your eyes like another human soul.

Recently, Bleu started acting very strangely.  He is normally a very active, friendly, and loving dog but all of a sudden, he stopped eating, drinking, and wouldn't get up to go outside.  When we took him to the vet, they thought he had a bowel obstruction.  After cutting him open and removing small pieces of my daughter's toy, they thought that they discovered the issue.  After recovering, he seemed to get better but started dragging his back two legs.  He was unable to control them and would fall repeatedly.  He would cry out in pain and we didn't understand why.  After taking him to different doctors, Bleu was finally diagnosed with a severe spinal injury, which requires a very expensive surgery.  They also suspect that there could be a tumor pressing on his spine, which is causing the pain and the loss of strength and control of his back legs.

We just had a baby, who absolutely adores Bleu, and the expenses are too much to pay for this next surgery. As I lay here next to him, I'm destroyed because I can't help my baby boy.  He can barely lift his head.  We have to carry him everywhere - he can't even stand to go to the bathroom.  You can see the sadness and shame in his eyes and I'm so torn on what to do.  A close friend recommended that I reach out and ask for help......Please, help save our Bleu!  He has so much more love, warmth, and happiness to bring to this world!

Through the best and worst of times in life, Bleu has given us a gentle nudge and lick to remind us that everything will be ok.  I really hope that we all, can offer that same comfort to Bleu by raising the money to have his life-saving surgery.
