Help the Plight of a Child’s Father With Cancer

Imagine your son or daughter at the age of fourteen having to stop going to school, so that he or she can financially provide for your family. Well, this is exactly what happen in this situation. I was moved by my younger cousin’s act of selflessness. His dad, who was the only source of income in his family was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and a spinal problem that requires back surgery, and can no longer work to care for the family. After a desperate attempt to save his dad’s life, and with no other alternative, he hurtfully decided to quit school and seek a full-time job to help to save his dad’s life. In his own words, he said with tears running down his cheeks “I cannot sit back and do nothing just watching my dad die, I have to try and save his life”. With that said, he moved away and got a manual labor job to help with his dad’s medical bills.

Education, is one of the most powerful and positive attributes in a person’s life. Not having the educational tools that is necessary for future endeavors can be a lifelong detriment. As a young boy, not being able to work to achieve educational goals he will be placed at a disadvantage. Our goal is to help my younger cousin raise at least ten thousand dollars to help his dad, Monty, and also for him to be released of the financial and emotional burdens he is currently feeling, so that he can resume his education. Thank you for whatever you are able to give. May God bless and keep you!
