Hi my name is April, I have been dealing with severe cornea damage for 7 years. I have seen 4 Cornea Specialists in 4 different cities.
I have endured several painful surgeries over the past 7 years and multiple treatments, Plasma tears which is putting your own blood in your eye 8 times a day, was not fun to travel with Plasma tears it had to be kept on dry ice at all times. I once was at Nashville Airport and they thought I had a bomb, was a bit funny..also several eye drops with horrible side effects not to mention the actual surgeries
1. Amniotic Membrane transplant. FAILED
2. Amniotic Membrane transplant with Stem Cell graph~ FAILED
3. SAME~FAILED
4. SAME~FAILED
My Dr here in Ft. Worth sent me to Miami in March with the hopes of me having another Stem Cell surgery, this did not happen. Many painful tests were performed and more money out of pocket that INS would not cover. Was a very disappointing trip needless to say.
So now my Dr here in Ft Worth wants to attempt a CORNEA TRANSPLANT which I am very excited about, but with all of the funds spent on Miami and prescriptions I am out of funds for this surgery. I tried working with INS and Hospital but, was unable to work any arrangements out.
I live a life of unimaginable pain everyday, I have no vision in my left eye, I cant take bright lights, I have to suffer on a daily basis with pain and everything that comes with my cornea damage.
My surgery is set for June 12th, 2013 in Dallas, TX
I truly hope I am able to raise this money before then or I will have to cancel. I have never done anything like this but I have heard wonderful stories about this site.

I want to add that I now have raised my down payment for surgery.. I am so blessed with all of the donations I have received from both friends and strangers.. I now am looking forward to my surgery next Wed and praying all goes well..
I still have my after surgery doctor bills and donor medications that I will be billed for and cost of my prescriptions which will be expensive. I hope to continue to raise funds for these costs. God bless, April
