Save Sweetie's Eye

Sweetie is a loveable cat who was rescued off the streets of Waltham.  She was dirty and starving.  Her rescuer took excellent care of her, got her to the vet where she received her shots and was spayed.  He cared for her until he found Sweetie a home with a wonderful elderly resident, Betty.  Betty made sure that Sweetie got the most love a cat could get. 

 Recently Sweetie suffered an injury to her eye and needs surgery.  The injury is very painful, a corneal ulcer.  That is why her eye is nearly closed.  Unfortunately Betty, who really is quite elderly, 91 years old, cannot afford the surgery.  So we are looking for donations to pay for it.  Before arthritis stole her dexterity, Betty was an accomplished animal portraitist.  Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and as a thank you for donations of $50 or more, we will send you a set of five greeting cards reproducing Betty’s art along with hand decorated envelopes.

Sweetie really needs your help because this surgery will alleviate immense pain.  She loves to have her belly rubbed and her head scratched.  Your help is critical right now. Sweetie’s pre and post-surgical care is quite complicated, so Betty is unable to care for Sweetie until she is better. Betty really misses Sweetie and the sooner Sweetie is better she can return to Betty and her forever home where she can live pain-free and happy.
