Sketch now NEEDS SURGERY!!!

Donation protected
UPDATED INFO!  9- 8-14  Auburn says Sketch needs surgery to help correct one of the problems they've found. They discovered he has a kink that's keeping food from moving from his stomach into his intestines like it should. This is exacerbating the Megaesophagus they officially diagnosed him with today.

So, what's going is this: he eats and then food struggles to move down the esophagus into the stomach. There's some motility there, so it does actually make it to the stomach eventually, but then once it's there it begins a slinky type movement due to this kink in the stomach to intestines area.... which then causes the food to move back up into the esophagus again and back n forth it goes.... eventually building up at times to a vomiting episode.

He was started on Metoclopromide on last Thursday (9-4-14) and that is helping him some, but this surgery would be a HUGE help and could greatly reduce his vomiting, which would then allow him to gain weight, keep water down easier, and have a MUCH more normal life - plus help reduce the risk of aspiration pneumonia quite a bit.

We need $3700.00 total to include the cost of the hospital stay and the cost of the surgery to correct this "kink" they found.

They kept him for the night in order to re-hydrate him to where he needs to be before they either get the go ahead to do the surgery in the morning or we have to go pick him up and bring him home without it.

If you can.... PLEASE help.  Yeah... I don't mind begging, regardless of what anyone may think or say about it.  This is our boy and we'll do whatever we possibly can - even beg friends, family, and strangers for help.  Please and thank you for any and all you can do to make life better and possible for Sketch!

Please help us!
 We're trying to raise money to take our rescued Great Dane (1 yr old), Sketch, to UGA, or Auburn, for tests to find out what is going on - why he can't keep any food or fluids down.
   He had emergency surgery for bloat (the tummy flips and cuts off blood supply) back in June.  Since he came home, he's had problems with being able to keep food and fluids down.  He regurges or vomits it all. We've spent over 3000.00 already trying to save this guy. Honestly.... we have nothing left.
   When we rescued him, he came from a bad situation and was in horrible shape - totally shut down in fear, had demodex, and some other issues. We were only going to foster him for a couple of weeks, but my youngest daughter, Chloe, and Sketch fell in love. He came alive around her and watching him grow to trust that he was now safe was a beautiful thing to see. He began to learn about love and what that felt like - to be fed every day and to have a soft bed and people to be with and pet him, show him real love. He ended up ours and we've nursed him through several issues over the last 5 months, but this one is getting the best of all of us and it's breaking our hearts seeing him suffering.
Below is Sketch after we nursed him a little and before he bloated and this nightmare started.

   Our vet has done all he can and says Sketch needs to go where they can do more tests and get to the bottom of whatever it is that's causing him to be unable to eat or drink.
                                    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
   We need your help to get him the tests he needs to get the answer to the question of what's wrong, before the question itself takes his life and our hearts.
Below is Sketch now..... after being unable to eat normally since June - without us hand feeding him numerous little meals of a handmade, high calorie, dog food mixture.... It currently takes almost an hour to feed him each meal.  That's also my daughter, Chloe, trying to sleep after being up with him since 4 am because he wasn't feeling good and we had to do more sub q (under the skin) fluids for him.
 Every little bit helps.... Even a single dollar is a dollar more than we have to work with right now.
