Please Keep Plymouth UCC ALIVE

Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ is deeply thankful for our community of friends, supporters and colleagues.  When Plymouth sounded our need a wonderful community of friends, supporters and members responded in so many generous ways.  Your support and generosity helped to bring us out of the crisis so that we could meet our challenges with sober strategy.  Thank you!  There was the demand by our lender to file reports by a certain date and we did.  The lender also wanted Plymouth to begin payment on the loan by a due date and we have.  The construction is continuing and the maze of concrete and steel begins to make it apparent how the design of accessibility will fit together.  It has been quite an ordeal but when it is finished our facilities will be open to the community and membership like never before.  Your support has been extremely important in helping us dig out of the hole that construction overruns have created.  We still need your help and generosity.

Plymouth has been a viable witness of equality and justice  since 1881 and your support will help keep us that way.

Plymouth has been a stalwart supporter and advocate of peace and justice and your support will help keep us that way.

Plymouth has work with National Nurses United, UNITE-HERE Local 23, SEIU 32BJ, UFCW Local 400, Washington Teachers Union, and with workers at the airports, and in restuarants.  Your support helps to keep us organizing and agitating for justice.

Pymouth was a  leader in getting the minimum wage raised in  DC and in the DMV.  Your support keeps our advocacy strong.

Plymouth challenged EXXON in 1993 over land on North Capitol Street and Riggs Rd., NE and instead of getting a gas station the church was able to build subsidized senior housing.  Your support will help keep us doing amazing feats like this.

Plymouth  helped to organize a challenge to payday lenders and that campaign forced those predatory lenders out of DC and your support helps to keep us vigilante.

Plymouth has hosted Rev. William Barber, III, Jasiri X, the Late Dick Gregory, Amy Goodman, Jeremiah Wright, Former Labor Secretary Perez, and a host of others.  Your support helps to keep our pulpit free and a place where progressive ideas can be shared and where people of all walks of life are able to come together.  Your support will help keep us that way.

Plymouth supported Same Gender Marriages in DC and across the country.  Our theological voice has been principaled and just.  Your support will help keep us this way.

We embraced the Muslim community amid the rising tide of Islamophobia.  You support will help to keep us standing with our Sisters and Brothers.

Plymouth has raised its voice in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle and your support will help to keep us prophetic and progressive.

Thank you for all your support.  The need is still before us, but we are stronger because of your care, love and concern.  If you have not given yet I hope that you will do so.  Every donation is appreciated - large or small - it all goes towards good works.
