Fairlake's Current Situation:

Hurricane Matthew did some damage to the lake in October of 2016. A week prior to Matthew hit the dam was inspected by the state and was given a good report, however with future maintenance suggestions, the engineer at the time didn't notice major concerns, but that changed after Matthew.

Through April 22-25 our state received four days of slow, steady rains that caused severe erosion on the dam. This caused emergency crews to quickly fix the situation while warning neighborhoods downstream of a possible dam failure.

Since April 25 the state has issued Fairlake to be drained using the two siphons that are in the lake.

While the lake is almost completely drained, the the Fairlake community stands perplexed as to what next steps to take with limited funds.

We need your help to Save Fairlake for future generations to enjoy.

Please join the Fairlake community in its mission
to preserve the a place where wildlife abounds amongst the trees and on the lake.

All funds will be used to help offset the costs to repair Fairlake's dam and return the lake back to the gorgeous natural oasis she once was for all to enjoy.
