Save Deb's Wheels

"Since September of 2013, my mother, Deb Dawson, has been homebound.  She found herself unemployed from her office job of 14 years and has been unable to obtain any work due to her overqualification.  Despite that, she has continued to work hard, submitting applications, running yard sales, and doing some small direct sales side jobs.  My mother has always kept her head up and continued to spread her good spirit and love to everyone she met through her endeavors.

At the beginning of this year, she began to have car troubles.  Even with the installation of a new engine in 2012, the service engine light would not turn off and her brakes screeched and squealed and then finally failed.  Her cylinders chugged so loudly that her modest SUV sounded like a full steam train riding through the neighborhood.  She drove carefully and slowly for the few times she would go 5 minutes away to the store, but it still worried her.  She began driving less and less for fear of the car giving out on her, leading to her being nearly permanently homebound if it wasn't for the gracious spirits of her friends who would offer to provide her a ride.  By Easter, her car was deemed undrivable due to the condition of the brakes and cylinders.  However, she was also blessed to be offered a fantastic job opportunity.

Out of the blue, she was approached by a lovely family with an offer to provide full time child care for their beautiful twin girls.  My mother studied child development, was at one time a kindergarten teachen and has an incredible passion for child care.  She is giving and caring to every soul she meets.  In the time since she was approached by this family to care for their daughters, we have grown to love them all and consider them family as well.  She is to begin full time care for the girls on June 1st, and her car is still undrivable.

This is where I need your generosity and help.
Help me Save Deb's Wheels.

In the time since my mother lost her job, she has fought tooth and nail to keep food on the table, a roof over her head, and power to the house.  I have been able to provide a lot of help to her, but we simply cannot afford the repairs to the car.  Her car has been towed and we have one week to repair it.

The repairs needed are as follows:

Rear Breaks - calibers, pads, rotors front and back (the break system is paper thin)
Emergency Breaks - rear
Check Engine Light repairs - coolant sensor, O2, Activity sensors
New plugs
Oil Change
Alignment
2 Front Tires
Drive train repairs

The bare minimum to get her car back on the road and safe is $1550.  This would cover the brake and cylinder repairs but she would have to go back by the end of this year to fix the rest.
If we can raise the full $2300, she would be fully covered and the vehicle would easily serve Mom for an additional 5 years.

Please, any bit you can donate helps.

My mother is offering some of her lovely handmade gifts (I can link examples if you'd like) as rewards for any donations.

Thank you,
Ashley Dawson"
