Help Save Brook & Family

Donation protected
We need your help!  My mother (Sandy), father (Dan), dog (Bella), cat (Cat Cat) and I (Brook) are homeless. Things have been very tough and do to unfortunate circumstances we find ourselves in this horrible situation. Due to our medical problems combined with getting sick with chicken pox, shingles and several other illnesses, I am trying to raise money to move our personal belongs out of our old apartment, come up with a security deposit on a new home/apartment, food, auto expenses, pet medical bills, pay off bills and pay for expensive medicine and mounting medical bills. We have nothing left. I never thought I could ever be in this situation, but I am! Please help anyway you can.

Current Situation
We we are currently homeless and trying to keep our heads above water. We have been homeless since Thursday, October 5, 2017, and have been living in a motel ever since. Please read about our medical problems below. Money has almost run out for the month.

Background

Brook
In 2009, I starting feeling really sick. I was a workaholic but still managed to go for my yearly physical. In 2010, I was diagnosed with acute End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), aka Kidney Failure. It was a very rare form of Kidney Disease caused by an infection I had on my leg. The last week of 2010, I was rushed to Tarzana Hospital and almost died. I was in the ICU for a week and they started me on dialysis.

I have been on in-center hemodialysis ever since (going on 7 years). I go to dialysis 3 to 4 days per week for 4 hours per day connected to the dialysis machine. It actually ends up being over 5 hours per day with travel, on and off time.

I am lucky because people who have lung, liver and heart failure must have a transplant soon or they will die. I would die if I did not have dialysis for 2 weeks. For more about Kidney Disease please see www.KidneyLife.org.

I am in need of a living Kidney Donor as well. If you are interested and are blood type O+, please contact me. Also, please sign up to be an organ donor when you die and save several lives!

Sandy
Sandy has beaten Breast Cancer (HER2+) with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy; had her Mitral Valve repaired with the State-of-the-Art MitraClip (Caused from radiation from Breast Cancer); had her hip replaced; had her Parathyroid removed due to benign tumor; and now has mild memory loss.  Sandy has also have had several Afib attacks and is now having other heart problems due to stress of our situation.

Dan
Dan has been living in Carlsbad running his business. Last year he called us and told us he was evicted from both his apartment and his office and was living on the streets for 5 days. He was in really bad shape. We were hesitant to take him in but we did.

Dan is now 81 years old and has major health problems. From playing years of sports it has caught up with him. With bad knees, hips and back. He has major vision problems, hearing problems and dental problems. Also, major prostate and bladder problems.

Closing
I could never imagine being in this situation, but we are! I could never imagine doing a Gofundme campaign, but I have to at this point. All I can do now is look for HOPE and fight on! Please help, please pray for us and please share this page.

Thank you.
