Save Beetlejuice

My name is Beetlejuice and I am one years old.

I was adopted from an animal shelter last summer when I was just 11 weeks old. No-one knew it then, but I was born with bad hips and would need a lot of extra care. My mom quickly noticed that something wasn't right with the way I walked and played, so she took me to the vet. I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in my left hip. Three different animal hospitals all gave me the same diagnosis and told my mom it was better to wait until I was fully grown before getting an operation on my growing leg. So we waited...
Yesterday, I went to see an orthopedic surgeon. This doctor told us that I need BOTH of my hips replaced, not just one! Plus, he told us that if we had come to see him sooner, he could have operated once to fix them both at one time for much less money.
So, here we are. I need two hip replacements and each of them will cost close to $10,000.00.
I am now taking lots of medicine for the pain and eating special food to protect my joints, but I still need the surgeries. If you know my mom at all, you know she loves me very much and will do anything to keep me healthy and out of pain, but $20,000.00 is so much money!
