SAVE FOR SHELTERS

Tax deductible
As you already know, the school is hoping to teach the children outside as much as possible, throughout the year, whatever the weather.
Whilst Reception have a great covered outdoor area, there is currently no such space for Year 1 and Year 2 classes. This means the teaching area is reduced in poor weather and the school have been looking at installing sails or shelters constructed outside the classrooms to provide cover on rainy days and essential shade in the summer. The estimate for installing these shelters is in the region of £15,000 and we have agreed with the school to launch a one-off appeal to raise the funds so they can be installed as quickly as possible.
We are asking the children to get involved with the fundraising and do a virtual ‘sponsored stomp’ from the school gates to Dracula’s castle in Transylvania! It’s a scary 1374 miles to get there but if every child walks/scoots/cycles for 4 miles over the Half term holiday we can cover the distance together. Children can do their contribution in one go or do it over several legs in the half term.
Why not do your miles in your spookiest fancy dress and upload a photo to Tapestry to share with your class?  Dr Mitchell will be awarding  3 prizes for the best fancy dress - free child's ticket to Drusilla's Park!
