Sarah Amend Symphony Scholarship

Sarah battled Cystic Fibrosis her entire life.  She beat all odds and had a lung transplant July 15, 2016.  After 6 seizures, 5 strokes and coding 6 times, the lungs were rejected by her body and she passed away after a long fight on June 15 at 5:16 PM.  Overall, the costs for her struggle exceeded $8 million over her last 18 months. However, we want to emphasize this fund is NOT for us.

The purpose of this gift is to establish The Sarah Amend Symphony Scholarship Fund to allow Sarah’s inspiration of friendship, personal integrity, service to others, academic excellence and intellectual pursuits through community and campus involvement and personal and career development to become a legacy. These funds, and all future additions to the Fund, which will be administered by the UC Foundation in accordance with their policies for gift funds, will be used for scholarships to be awarded annually.  

We are looking for 1,000 $50 donations, 500 $100 donations and 50 $1,000 donations, and 10 $5,000 donations from friends, family, corporations and followers of her struggle.  If you can only pledge a little, it is greatly appreciated.  If you can pledge more, may God bless you.  We could use a single $50,000 donation to ensure one of the scholarships have been met!
