For 20 years Santa Maria Brewing Co. has been the best little brewery nobody knew about. Founded by Dan Hilker and Gary Ford, Santa Maria Brewing Co. has been the best kept secret for those traveling up and down Highway 101 in California. With an incredible support of local clientele Santa Maria Brewing Co. has stood tall, never sacrificing the quality of our Award Winning Beers. In July of 2013 a new partnership emerged, ten years in the making. Purchased by Byron & Karen Moles and partnering with Dan Hilker, Santa Maria Brewing Co. is moving into a new home, expanding our barrel production, partnering with select Pubs, Restaurants, and retailers across the U.S & starting an incredible Beer of the Month Club. Santa Maria Brewing Co. is going to become the best known little brewing company! We look forward to serving you the highest quality beer we can produce!

Dan Hilker:
How do you define passion for your chosen profession? I take the notion of that, to the all consuming drive to be the best in all you do towards a goal of perfection. 30 years ago I set out a plan to be the best small brewery on the central coast. With the help of my good friend Gary Ford, we acquired the land, the equipment, the training, and the support of friends and customers to do just that. For 20 years we operated the best little brewery that nobody heard of, unless you were the rare individual that sought out the eclectic, off beat and out of the way locale.

For those chosen few, the entertainment, the parties, the food and the warm family atmosphere are legendary. What stood above all else, was the beer that Gary and I made. State fair award winning beer, IPA, Pale Ale, Stouts and Porters Gold through Bronze. A dream fulfilled for the both of us.
Today Gary has retired and I stand at an open door to the future with my new partner Byron Moles. I am going to brew, and train new brewers to take the Santa Maria Brewing company to the next level of greatness. Hang on the ride is going to get better.

Byron Moles:
In 1994 I met Dan Hilker, the founder of Santa Maria Brewing Co. Karen and I had a business across the street, and it didn't take long for us to become good friends. As he built by hand his building and began producing some of the Best Beers I have ever tasted I quickly knew that one day he and I would partner to grow Santa Maria Brewing Co. into a brewery bigger than he had planned. In 1996 we agreed that when the time came and we where both ready we would make it happen.


Well now 17 years after it started the time has come. Karen and I purchased Santa Maria Brewing Co. and Dan is going to do what he does best, "Brew The Best Tasting Beers". We are now going to take those beers around the world. We are building a new 50 barrel Brew House at our new location. We already have commitments from 2 national chains. We are taking orders for our Beer of the Month Club. We also have a commitment to have us start contract brewing and bottling for another brewer. 17 years of dreaming and planning and now we get to begin doing. We are moving over what equipment we can use but will be purchasing a lot of much larger pieces.


The tipping point came for me the other day when from out of no where my son said to me, "Dad did you know that Beer saved the world. We learned that in school." It was the final confirmation I needed to know that Santa Maria Brewing Co.'s time has come. It will not only be a brewery but a staple in our community to help others.


We have committed to giving 5% of our profits to charities that support the men, woman, and families of folks that serve in the U.S. Military. We know with out their service we would not have the opportunities we have. Including growing Santa Maria Brewing Co. into the company we will be come.
