Samuel's Headstone

My darling, Samuel.
For the longest time, I couldn't get myself to sit down with your father and design your headstone. Having a headstone made your death seem so permanent. As if getting one created and placed would make your death irreversible and there would never be a chance of getting you back. But I know, through the fog my tears have made, that there is no coming back from death. You are in the warm embrace of our Creator now and in Him is where we will find you once again. 

Son, your family, and friends have been looking for something to give you - or a way to honor you - and daddy and I feel this is the best we can offer them. I don't mind visiting with you at an unmarked grave, I know right where you are, in our hearts! But this is our way of giving our family and friends the opportunity to do something for you by contributing to your headstone. It takes months to design and create and we thought it would be a good idea to have it in place for your first birthday.

So, to our friends and family, if you would like to be a part of memorializing Samuel this is your time.
