Sammy’s Story

This lovely woman is Sammy.
She is my best and longest friend. Lately, I have seen her bravery and strength come to light.
Many of you I’m sure already know her story, but for those who don’t, please take the time to read below.
In April 2018, Sammy and Luke found out they were expecting their first child, a beautiful baby girl, healthily growing and due in December. The excitement of this was still fresh when Sam sadly then found out that she had Stage 2 breast cancer.
The last few months have been tough not only on her and Luke, but everyone who know and love her.
Sam has undergone Surgey and is now currently on her second round of Chemotherapy and will continue to have this until a month before the baby is due.
Once the baby is born she will continue Chemotherapy and then go onto radiotherapy.
This has resulted in her loss of hair which has been a big obstacle for her to overcome.
Whilst this is something Sam and Luke are coping really well with and have remained positive throughout, I wanted to start this page to help them with any costs or funds needed to see them through Sammy’s maternity leave and should Luke need time off work, being self employed, he will be able to do so with out any further worries.
This should be a time for them to enjoy a new baby and be happy, however Sammy also needs to focus on her health and strength.
Hopefully this will enable them to do so, and see them through.
Sam’s previous work colleagues at The Queens Hotel in Swansea have kindly organised a fundraising night for her on October 19th @ 7:30 until late. Further information of this fundraiser will be updated shortly.
We would love everyone to join us for the fundraiser and meanwhile , if you would like to help contribute you can donate via this page or on the night.
Confirmed for this fundraiser so far is Kayla, who is a close friend of Sam’s and she will be braving the shave in aid of Cancer research.
