Disabled Couple Wedding Help

This is a surprise for Samantha and Mike who have a love story that shows resilience, dedication, faith, and optimism while overcoming significant life challenges!  They live in separate states now but have been together over the years for enough time to fall in love! Here is a little about their story and why we would like to raise money for their wedding and a special honeymoon.  

Samantha grew up in a very difficult situation.  To say it was hard, would be an understatement.  Samantha endured horrible and unspeakable abuse from her infancy through her early adult years. She suffers from severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder with a diagnosis that this disorder will be an intricate part of her for her entire life. She has had loving people around her now for many years and works to regain control of her life and to feel whole. Samantha works tirelessly towards recovery and to gain coping skills necessary for a rewarding, happy, loving and truly meaningful life.  Her focus has always been on service, love, faith, forgiveness and trust.  She has made incredible progress and is an absolutely amazing person!  She is the definition of "loving and serving your neighbor".  She coordinates and cooks a meal at the soup kitchen each month and gives love and care for all whom she comes in contact with.  And with an innocence and dedication that is unsurpassed.  Samantha is not defined by her past, her challenges or her disabilities.  She is optimistic, loving, kind and a friend to everyone!  She is also the first to plan surprises for others.  Now it is her turn!

Mike was born with Cerebral Palsy and has been in a wheel chair his whole life.  His sister shared that "his disability doesn't match his voracious appetite for learning!"  He was brought up to believe that he could do anything and not to let his disability get in his way! He was raised by his Mother who died young.  His sister has been his strength along with friends and family that believed in him and included him in all they did!  It is amazing what you can do in a wheel chair!  Mike does not use his disability as an excuse. He lives his life with faith, love and appreciation for all the moments.

Life for Samantha and Mike has not been easy.  No matter how hard it was for them, they continued to love one another.  It is now the right time to seal that love in marriage.  They will be married in May at the LDS temple in Boston.

Many people love Samantha and Mike as they are both such loving and giving people.  We are hoping to give a little back to them at this special time by making a long awaited dream come true.  As you can imagine, with both having disabilities, money is not abundant.  Mike saved up for an engagement ring and friends flew him home to surprise Samantha with a very special proposal.  We would like to help them raise money to have a nice but simple wedding reception and a honeymoon that they will remember.  They LOVE Disney and have not had the opportunity to go together. Mike has never gone and Samantha only went once with friends whom she lives with.  Disney has great handicap access for so much and they need some time in the" happiest place on earth" as they start their new life together!

If you would like to help Samantha and Mike to celebrate their love and start their new life together in a joyful and fun celebration for their wedding and honeymoon, we would be ever so grateful.  They have a hard road to climb in that they have a voucher for living arrangements and sadly, lose significant income when they get married.  Crazy system but they actually get more disability benefits when they are single.  Their dedication to each other, their faith, and their commitment to one another in marriage, has made this the right choice for them.
