Why we’re fundraising:
Our Open Meet swimming competition which was planned to take place on the 7th June has unfortunately been cancelled due the Covid-19 pandemic. The Open Meet is the biggest event the club runs each year and without the funds generated the club will struggle to resume its teaching and training programme when the swimming pools re-open.
Our fundraising event:
As we are unable to swim at the moment, our members and coaches are planning to complete an 8-hour team workout challenge, training virtually over Zoom. The ”Salisbury Stingrays Zoomathon 2020 Team Workout Challenge” will involve 8 teams completing 1-hour workout sessions as a relay. The challenge will start at 9 am and finish at 5 pm on Sunday 28th June and involve 100 members from the club.
Our fundraising goal:
We’re aiming to raise £10,000 which will replace the funds our open meet would have generated and help recoup lost income due to Covid-19. All funds generated will help the club re-start its teaching and training programme when the swimming pools re-open.

A big hello from Salisbury Stingrays – your local swimming club serving the people of Salisbury and South Wiltshire since 1889.
We provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to achieve their goals in the sport of swimming. Our dedicated team of teachers and experienced coaches offer a range of swimming pathways; from weekly learn to swim lessons to county, regional, and national level squads who can train for up to 20 hours a week. We also offer water polo for junior and senior age groups, as well as a swimming squad for our senior 'masters'.
Competitively we are among the top clubs in Wiltshire and the performance of our swimmers in the South West region and nationally is improving year on year.
Salisbury Stingrays is a non for profit organisation run by a committed team of volunteers. We are able to operate through membership subscriptions, fundraising activities, and by promoting our own “Open Meet” swimming competition once a year.
