<div>The Vermont Short Term Renal Alliance (VTSTRA) is working with MSK Attorneys--a Burlington-based law firm--to bring winnable STR challenges to Vermont Courts. MSK supports landowners’ rights and is willing to work with affected STR owners to try to protect those rights.

<div>Filing a lawsuit is expensive. Not all households can afford to take this on alone. As a community of hosts, guests, and industry vendors, we can ease that burden if we all chip in and support this common cause.

<div>A win in any Vermont community is an established precedent and a win for the entire industry!

<div><strong>We're looking to support 3 cases ($25k per lawsuit) and secure solid legal precedents for STR regulation in Vermont.</strong>

<div>Unreasonable regulations challenges may include:

<li>Owner-occupancy or residency requirements
</li>
<li>Commercial treatment of rental properties in zoning and/or tax law
</li>
<li>Caps on the number of rentals a person can own

<li>Onerous, outlandish, or discriminatory fees or taxes

The attorneys are ethically bound to only share information with their clients and, therefore, cannot share information with others, or respond to inquiries from others, regardless as to whether they have contributed to this Legal Action Fund.
