SRHS Service Trip to Nicaragua

Students at Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston, New Hampshire are dedicated to serving the community, with many opportunities built into the school year to give back.  This focus on giving back has lead some students to want to do even more and see how they can make change on a worldwide scale.  

Four junior girls will be traveling to El Sauce, Nicaragua to build a house for a family in need.  This will take place at the end of February, and will serve as an "alternative February break," meaning that these students will spend their school vacation on this trip.  They will be working with an organization called the 4 Walls Project (Proyecto 4 Paredes), which has built more than 120 houses for families in Nicaragua since 2007.  

The four students are members of Key Club at SRHS , a group dedicated to service.  This trip will be a continuation of their efforts, and will be "sponsored" by the Key Club at SRHS.   These students have also taken several years of Spanish, and are very excited to learn more about Latin American culture and to increase their Spanish speaking skills through immersion .  They are so ambitious that they would like to bring their experience back to the school, and potentially create a lasting relationship between Sanborn Regional High School and the 4 Walls Project.

Any donations made will go towards this once-in-a-lifetime experience for these students to give back while also enriching their understanding of our world. 

The funds that these students raise will go to...
 1. The cost and materials to build a brick house in El Sauce. 
2. The host families that students stay with, who only ask for a small fee, and give the students a unique view into Nicaraguan culture. 
3. Transportation - students will be flying from Boston to Managua, traveling from Managua to El Sauce, and will  require some transportation to local cultural excursions throughout the course of the trip.

Any additional expenses will be covered by the individuals attending the trip.
