Because we are a smaller organization on campus, one of our major initiatives is to increase the number of new members annually. Through a series of smaller recruitment events, we will reach out to freshmen and STEM majors during the first month of the semester. Events include information sessions with light refreshments, welcome tables with flyers and information, and general body meetings. We want to host these events multiple times in order to reach out to as many students as possible and to garner their interests in NSBE, engineering disciplines, and student life.
Our chapter participates in a variety of NSBE conferences during the Fall and Spring semesters. Attendances at these conferences provide our members with opportunities to develop leadership skills, to participate in career fairs and workshops, to network and brainstorm with other NSBE chapters, and to interact with professionals across the country. These conferences prepare students for the professional world before graduation.
